Infrared Sauna

Unlike traditional saunas, infrared saunas help create heat promoting detoxification, relaxation and other health benefits. While inside the sauna, your body will absorb the infrared heat, increasing your core body temperature, and cause you to sweat. As the infrared light penetrates your joints, muscles and tissues, oxygen flow and circulation is improved resulting in benefits such as weight loss, increased metabolism, muscle pain relief, improved immune system, detoxification, mental well-being and more.

Benefits of Using an Infrared Sauna

Sunlighten’s patented heating technology, which aids in cell health, muscle recovery and overall immunity defense. Infrared therapy stimulates the circulatory system, causing the heart to beat more vigorously and blood vessels to dilate, which help cleanse the circulatory system and more fully oxygenate the body’s cells. Better blood circulation means more toxins flow from the cellular level to the skin’s surface to improve cell health, aid in muscle recovery and strengthen the immune system

Because far infrared sauna therapy heats the body directly rather than simply warming the air, it raises the core body temperature and produces a deep, detoxifying sweat at the cellular level, where most toxins reside. Your sweat then pushes out the toxins, cleansing your body and rejuvenating your skin. Far infrared also aids in blood pressure reduction and weight loss, along with a wide range of other health benefits

Our Sauna Can Help You

BETTER SLEEP

When your body is in a sauna your heart rate increases and your blood vessels widen, which increases circulation. According to the book “Sauna Therapy for Detoxification and Healing,” written by Dr. Lawrence Wilson, researchers in Finland have found that sauna use aids in deeper, more restful sleep.

WEIGHT LOSS

According to information published in the Journal of the American Medical Association, infrared sauna weight loss sessions were shown to burn up to 600 calories.

RELIEF FROM SORE MUSCLES

The benefits of infrared saunas include helping relieve inflammation, stiffness and soreness by increasing blood circulation and allowing the deep, penetrating infrared heat to relax muscles and carry off metabolic waste products, while delivering oxygen-rich blood to the muscles for a faster recovery.

Increased Longevity

Infrared therapy has been shown to not only reduce the risk of heart disease and dementia, but has been shown at the cellular level to reduce oxidative damage, and in some cases completely restore cell viability in damaged cells

In the infrared sauna, infrared light penetrates several inches into the body and creates heat, resulting in a whole-body hyperthermia on a cellular level to make you sweat. No, invisible light heats the body, not the surrounding air, so it is more comfortable and allows you to enjoy a longer session than with traditional steam saunas.
We recommend working your way up to 30- to 40-minutes. You will have the room for 50 minutes total, giving you enough time to freshen up and change upon completion. Your sweating and detoxification continues after you get out of the sauna for about 30- to 60-minutes afterwards, so it is not recommended that you shower right afterwards as it will shorten the benefits of the detoxification process.
You can wear a bathing suit or a towel. You will be in a private room alone or with a known partner.
Yes! Our saunas are sanitized after each use. Infrared light kills all bacteria and any airborne germs.
Our sauna is spacious and comfortable for a private or couples session and can accommodate up to 4 people.
In general, children above the age of 12 can use the infrared sauna for a brief session. Children who are prepubescent are not able to thermoregulate (regulate their body temperature through proper sweat production) as well as adults do, so please consult with your primary care provider before using the infrared sauna.
